Youth Literature Festival

The Center for Children's Books participated in the 2012 Youth Literature Festival, sponsored by the College of Education and the Center for Education in Small Urban Communities. The festival brings together several local and national authors, illustrators, and storytellers of media for young people together to share their work and their histories with members of the community. The festival encompasses school visits during the week, leading up to a Community Day, with activities, author talks, book signings, and more. The CCB hosted an activity table with a community story tree. Participants were encourage to share their favorite story by writing a title, describing a story, or drawing a picture on a leaf, which was added to the tree by CCB volunteers.
