This chart shows how many times Cinderella would actually say something within the 31 picture books. This varied completely: from one book where Cinderella never said anything, to the 1995 Disney version where Cinderella spoke 71 times. Needless to say, there were many times that the narrator told you what Cinderella was thinking. However, the versions that showed Cinderella's personality in dialogue as well as action were especially effective. Cinderella has a lot to say—even if she doesn't always say it.
