Illustrations of Cinderella
Cinderella
is portrayed differently in each of the 31 picture books that I looked at. Specifically
noted were the variations between the color of her hair, the color of the rags
she wore, the color of her ball gown, and her weight compared to the weight
of her stepsisters. Basically-even though these 31 picture books all are based
on the Charles Perrault version of the story—each Cinderella is totally
different. In fact, the only thing that was the same about Cinderella was that
she wore glass slippers.
